The Hitman series has always been about versitility, and Hitman: Absolution looks to continue that trend. We’ve seen the many weapons–both conventional and not–the game has to offer, and now Square Enix wants to show us the various ways Agent 47 likes to dispose of his enemies.
As the trailer shows, Absolution allows players to stealth their way through the game, incapacitating enemies non-lethally, while also allowing them to enter situations with guns blazing, tearing holes in anything that moves. This kind of choice is pretty standard in stealth/action games, but Absolution may just raise the bar here. Indeed, it doesn’t seem that there is a “right” way to play this game–though committing to one strategy or another may serve to benefit the player. Past games have put a premium on stealth, while this game wants players to have the option to play the way they want to. Either way, players will have to be smart about how they take down targets.

The trailer also hints that the next Absolution trailer will focus on the multitude of disguises Agent 47 dons to infiltrate different areas in the game. You better believe we’ll have that one for you, too.
