If you’re a huge Harry Potter geek, I’m sorry for your life. For the rest of you casual nerds, Wonderbook: Book of Spells is becoming more and more tangible as the days go by. Earlier this month we received word of the November 13 U.S. release date, and now, Sony has announced that this “edutainment” project will be paired with its very own PS3 super slim and PlayStation Move.
Despite that ridiculous word above (the one in quotes), Book of Spells looks to be an actually cool experience, especially for those versed in the Potter mythos. In conjunction with the Pottermore website, Book of Spells brings to life many of the untold stories from the Harry Potter universe, allowing users to wave their Move controllers around like wizards, and break free of their Muggle shells. The game will also include never-before-read material from J.K. Rowling herself, so don’t be surprised if the title is out of stock for a while.
The PS3 super slim–which, as I understand, is about the size of a chicken nugget–released yesterday as a standalone system, and with a couple of bundles. With the Wonderbook: Book of Spells bundle, players will receive the super slim PS3 (12GB or 500GB, with controller), the PlayStation Move, and the Wonderbook peripheral.
Pricing information has not yet been made available, though we do now know that Book of Spells will release on November 14 in Australia, November 15 in the UK, and November 16 in Ireland.
