Treyarch is doing all that it can to make this year’s Call of Duty a more unique, original experience. An expanded campaign with branching paths should shake up the single player, and it seems a few changes to how weapons progress will be differentiating the multiplayer, too.
David Vonderhaar, the game design director at Treyarch, recently tweeted some information about the weapons you unlock with your Prestige credit exactly work in Black Ops II’s expansive multiplayer mode. While playtesters reported a bug that kept weapon levels earned on a previous level progression, Vonderhaar assured the world that this is an intentional addition to the game.
“That’s what we call NAB. Not a bug. If you Prestige and unlock the gun, you’ll pick up right where you left off,” Vonderhaar said. “If something has been a certain way a long time, the assumption when it doesn’t work the way it has in the past is that it is a bug.”
More encouraging news coming from the developer behind what’s expected to be the biggest game of the year. Thankfully, it looks like we’ll be playing a new style of Call of Duty in 2012.
Thanks for the information, One of Swords!
