We may have only seen a dark, stormy night when industry legend Hideo Kojima recently revealed Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, but luckily, both day and night cycles have been confirmed. Well, if you can load them up, that is.
According to Kojima, this is actually a pretty big deal in the grand scheme of things. Eurogamer was told that enemy troop patterns, as well as other small features in the game, will be different depending on the time of day. With different battle scenarios possible, the game should be much more replayable than past Metal Gear titles.
The not-so-hot news is that Snake won’t have the ability to sneak past load screens. While most open-world games have found a way to create a seamless, smooth world, it sound like the Fox Engine will make traversing the environments a bit of a stop-and-go experience. No one has seen these load screens in action, so it may not be as significant as we fear.
What do you think about the game changing between night and day? Is that cool enough news to make you forget about the load screens? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
