Atlus was all over the Nintendo DS and have shipped around 40 games on the handheld device in North America from the popular Trauma Center to the cult-favorite Etrian Odyssey. The 3DS’s game library is still growing, but with Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked standing out as a well-liked 3DS game (though it is a port), Atlus is poised to continue their spree into the new generation. Atlus is publishing Code of Princess, a 2.5D fantasy brawler developed by Agatsuma Entertainment, fully localized into English and complete with, well, English-ness. The game features 52 playable characters, up to four player coop (via local or online) and competitive multiplayer. Given the multiple planes of combat, variety of monsters and combo system, it’s safe to say this game is inspired by Guardian Heroes, and that’s nothing but fantastic.

The game has already been released in Japan and will be arriving here in North America on October 9. Without much in the way of quality co-op games (or versus games, for that matter) on the 3DS yet, could Code of Princess be one of those games all 3DS owners need?
