In a piece of news that’s not too surprising, EA Labels president Frank Gibeau has hinted at a possible release window for the next generation of consoles. During an interview with Bloomberg TV Gibeau stated that new hardware should be released “in about a year’s time.” He of course had no specifics to give about either Microsoft or Sony’s new hardware, but his statements about the current generation make a lot of sense. It’s hard to believe, but we really are six or seven years deep into the current generation, so EA must be hard at work with this mysterious new technology.
Overall, he seems really excited about the new technology, and even mentions a possible three to five new unnamed IP’s the company is currently working on. Do you think we’ll be buying new hardware from either Microsoft or Sony this time next year? And if so, when do you think they’ll finally reveal the tech? Speak your mind below, or head over to the Stick Skills forums.
