Last year, one of the biggest benefits in purchasing a special edition of Modern Warfare 3 was the inclusion of Call of Duty: Elite. While many initially thought the trend would continue with this year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, reps from Activision have confirmed that it won’t.
Today, Activision officially announced its Care Package and Hardened editions of Black Ops 2 and detailed the contents of each package. Gamers immediately stormed Twitter and began asking questions as to whether Call of Duty: Elite 2.0 would or would not be included.
We’ve included two tweets below from Treyarch & Activision employees who have confirmed no edition of Black Ops 2 will include Call of Duty: Elite.

Last year Elite was included in Hardened to launch it big, but it's not part of the CEs this year. I expect more Elite info next month.

The tweet from David Vonderhaar hints that we can expect a few changes from the Elite service this year. Will we be seeing a lower price point, or will Activision be taking a different approach with the service entirely?
What do you think about Elite not being included in either of the special editions? Will you still buy one without the inclusion of Elite? Be sure to let us know what you think by leaving us a comment below, or find other Black Ops 2 fans in our community.
