Recently on Twitter, 4J Studios, the developers behind the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft, revealed that we are “many weeks away” from playing the 1.8.2 update of Minecraft. This may come to a surprise to many fans of the Xbox 360 edition as previous updates have seem to have taken much quicker. However, seeing how 1.8.2 is a huge update, we may know why.

4J has also revealed some of the new features that will be coming to the game with 1.8.2. One new feature coming to the Xbox 360 edition is creative mode. The host will be able to choose if the server is on creative mode when creating and loading the world. This means you will be able to play creative and survival on the same world. The update is also bringing the ability to create a superflat world, for those who are into just creating amazing things in Minecraft.

4J also has said things such as hiding the gamertag display for those who want to play PVP or ‘hide-and-seek’ will be added too.

What are your thoughts on the upcoming Minecraft update? While it won’t be out for a long while, at least we do know that it is coming somewhat soon. At least we’ll have a ton of new skins to use while we wait! Discuss it in the comments below or in our forums with other Minecraft fans!
