You’ve been waiting quite a long time for this day, but brand new screenshots and the first gameplay trailer have finally been released for NBA 2K13.
2K Sports knows how to build anticipation up for their product, and has continued to keep things under wraps until they’re ready to showcase them. To this point, we’ve only seen the official cover art for the game, Kinect integration, and a few interviews. The screenshots that have been supplied today feature the cover athletes: Kevin Durant, Derrick Rose, and Blake Griffin.
The gameplay trailer that we’re bringing you today announces a few significant changes to gameplay. Remember the shot stick being on the right analog stick in previous games? That’s no longer true. NBA 2K13 will feature the shot stick on the left analog stick which is the same stick used for movement.
Defense has also received a revamp this year. The producers stated that playing on-ball defense is much more fun this time around. Holding the left trigger and tapping the right analog stick left or right will allow you to attempt to force a defender one way or the other. The video showcases what appears to be a much more physical effort for controlling ball handlers.
