After having spent two years working on Star Wars: The Old Republic at BioWare Austin, Greg Zeschuk, Co-Founder of BioWare, has left the studio and moved back north to Edmonton. In an English translation of a statement to GamersGlobal, EA confirmed this fact.
When Greg Zeschuk announced the reorganization of [BioWare] in May, he outlined his plan to return to his family in Edmonton for a much deserved vacation. Greg also announced the new GM of BioWare Austin and Old Republic, Matt Bromberg. Greg is still with EA. He’s now back in Canada, taking time off and thinking about new projects. No change with [co-founder] Ray Muzyka.
This is further confirmed through his LinkedIn account which says that he actually finished his tenure back in May. The question now is, what are the folks at BioWare Austin working on? Having finished Mass Effect 3 and continuing to support it post launch, surely a team has broken off to work on the next IP.
