Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition Breaks 3 Million Downloads

You know that crazy, endlessly entertaining game called Minecraft? Not to blow your socks off, but people still seem to be enamored by it. So much so, that the $20 Xbox 360 Edition has sold over 3 million digital copies.

This news came via the Twitter account of game creator Notch, who stated, “I got told Minecraft for XBLA passed three million sales today!”

It only took five days for Minecraft’s 360 counterpart to hit the million mark, so it’s safe to say that the phenomenon that started on the PC hasn’t lost much steam. With plans to continue updating both versions, there’s a pretty high possibility that we’ll be hearing more impressive figures like this in the near future.

Are you surprised by how well this game is doing? Do you think a $15 price would have helped push it even further? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
