If you’ve been wondering if you’d ever get a true Metal Gear Solid sequel, a smile is set to arrive on your face. Speaking to French magazine IG, Hideo Kojima has confirmed that Metal Gear Solid 5 is indeed in development and is using the Fox Engine.
While you may be rather happy to hear the news of it being in development, having the title use the Fox Engine all but confirms we won’t see the title on this generation of consoles. To give you a little positive news, it appears that Metal Gear Solid 5 will feature our old pal Solid Snake.
Eurogamer is stating that, “MGS5 will be more of an infiltration game, with characters who can interact, as seen in Deus Ex: Human Revolution”. Kojima went on to say that, “We have not yet finished with Solid Snake, despite the fact that I wanted to let him die at the end of Guns of the Patriots”.
Last year, Kojima mentioned that one of his ideas for Metal Gear Solid 5 was to have it set during the invasion of Normandy. Nothing was mentioned during the interview about this subject, but we’d think of this as something to watch out for going forward.
