During Microsoft’s E3 press conference, there seemed to be quite a bit more focus on services as compared to games. While Microsoft did announce a few great services for Xbox Live members, fans were hoping to see the emergence of new IPs.
While Halo, Gears, and a few other series received love through E3, speculation began to arise if Microsoft would plan any announcements during other conferences. If you were hoping to see Microsoft reveal anything at the Tokyo Game Show or Gamescom this year, you’ll be pretty disappointed with today’s news.
Major Nelson, via his blog, has confirmed that Microsoft will not attend the Tokyo Game Show or Gamescom. While he stressed the importance of the two shows, he stated that Microsoft will be “focusing on smaller, more localized promotions and experiences for press, partners, retailers and customers around the world”.
