It looks like there are still a few publishers left that appreciate the creative work being done over at Double Fine, as it was just revealed that Sega will be publishing Rob Gilbert’s newest adventure game dubbed The Cave.
“If you enjoy rappelling, spelunking and dark rocky caverns then be prepared to be disappointed! And then intrigued. And then AMAZED. And then disappointed again, but only for a minute,” said Sega. “Then relieved, amused, bewildered, excited, and satisfied. In that order.”
Not the most descriptive statement in the world, but the studio continued on by stating that you’ll “assemble your team of three unlikely adventurers” and soon run into both a subterranean amusement park and medieval castle. What you’ll do in these creative locations, other than adventuring, of course, is yet to be explained.

“The concept of The Cave has been bouncing around in my head for many, many years, and then the little voices that tell me to do things said it was time to make the game,” said Gilbert. “I’m thrilled to be working with amazingly talented folks at Double Fine and ecstatic that the team at Sega believes in adventure games and quirky ideas.”
