For an industry that has everyone sign non-disclosure agreements and prides itself on secrecy, quite a few projects seem to slip out on a regular basis. The growing trend that we’ve seen over the past two years has been the emergence of leaks via LinkedIn profiles.
If you’re attempting to market yourself to the industry, you want your potential employers to know what you’ve worked on. From time to time, individuals within the industry will add their most recent projects to their profile like most professionals tend to do. The unfortunate part, on their end, is that a good number of these projects have never been announced.
Thanks to few profiles that were found on LinkedIn by Gamerzines, we now know that both Battlefield: Bad Company 3 and Mirror’s Edge 2 have been in recent development. Unfortunately, the Mirror’s Edge 2 development work was done on the Unreal Engine 3 and from a few years ago. DICE has stated that if and when a Mirror’s Edge sequel emerges, it will run the Frostbite 2 engine.
At this point, neither Bad Company 3 or Mirror’s Edge 2 have been announced. With E3 coming up next month, it would seem like the perfect time for at least one of the titles to be announced.
What would you want to see out of a Mirror’s Edge or Bad Company sequel? Which of the two titles do you want to see more? Be sure to let us know what you think by leaving us a comment below, or discuss video games in our forums.
