While it was rumored that WWE ’13 would focus more on the fan-acclaimed Attitude Era than in years past, we may have our first confirmation of who to expect to see in some form via story mode or another as of yet unannounced feature. According to a report from WrestleZone, former WWE Superstar and current agent Brian “Road Dogg” James was asked by a fan on Twitter if he would be involved in the upcoming 2012 release. James’ exact response was “already did the voiceovers”.
Subsequently he was asked by another fan if Monty “Billy Gunn” Sopp would be joining his side, just like the duo did back in the late 1990s when they were known as the New Age Outlaws. James replied “he is!”, though both Tweets have seemingly since been deleted.
I’m very interested in these “voiceovers” and how THQ will involve these men in a game deriving from a currently PG format. All I truly know is that being able to (hopefully) play as them against the stars of today brings me one step closer to nostalgia heaven. All I ask from THQ is that we never (EVER, for the Jericho fans) bring back a character known as Meat, a completely underwhelming and forgettable blip on the Attitude Era, who some may remember from the WCW Invasion as Shawn Stasiak.
