EA released Medal of Honor in 2010 with fairly solid sales. The story was rather slow-paced, but was believable and realistic. The typical shooter market doesn’t really go down that path, so it was a refreshing experience that unfortunately wasn’t received well by everyone.
EA and Danger Close are bringing a sequel for Medal of Honor’s reboot this year after teasing it quite a bit earlier. The official name of the title is Medal of Honor: Warfighter and is set to launch in October 2012.
Both the single and multiplayer will be developed in-house by Danger Close this time around, however. The same engine that powered Battlefield 3, Frostbite 2.0, will be behind the new Medal of Honor title as well.
There aren’t any details that have emerged other than what we’ve mentioned so far, but a huge reveal is set to take place in early March. The title will be shown at GDC 2012 and the latest issue of OXM is said to reference the title quite a bit.
