Your inner fanboy has wanted it for years, and it appears as if that day might actually be coming. Valve is notorious for taking their time with their titles, which usually turn out to be great, but an announcement that Half-Life fans have wanted for years appears to be on the near horizon.
From the rumblings that we’ve been hearing from industry contacts, there’s an extremely big possibility that Half-Life 3 will be officially announced at this year’s 2011 VGAs. Last year had the enormous announcement and reveal of the release date for Skyrim, and the megaton announcement of Half-Life 3 and a release date could crash the internet.
While we’d normally dismiss this, the credibility seems to be there as a Valve employee was recently shown wearing a Half-Life 3 t-shirt featuring the logo. Valve always seem to have something up their sleeve, and they’re rather sneaky when it comes to dropping hints for upcoming titles. The timing of this shirt to pop-up on the internet just before the 2011 Video Game Awards seems very “Valve-like”.
What do you think about the rumor of Half-Life 3 being revealed at the 2011 VGAs? Do you think we’ll see the title actually show up at the awards show, or will it be held off until a later date? Be sure to let us know what you think by leaving us a comment below, or sound off in our community!
