Xbox Live Dashboard Update Registrations Now Live

Microsoft has been teasing quite a few amazing updates for the Xbox Live dashboard since E3 2011, and it’s almost time to get your hands on the update.  Earlier today, Major Nelson announced that gamers are now able to register for the dashboard preview program.

One of the nicest additions this time around is that gamers who are in the preview program can still party chat and communicate with friends who are not in the program.  With previous preview program updates, you’ve been unable to communicate with those friends, leaving it a bittersweet feeling to be in the preview program.

To register for your chance in the preview program, you can simply register here.  The process has been updated this year as well, making it so you do not need to enter your console information (mostly the dreaded process of entering in your serial number).  A few of the features available to you in the update are listed below:    New design for integrated Kinect and controller navigation

  • New design for integrated Kinect and controller navigation
  • New Beacons to play online with friends
  • Deeper Facebook integration
  • New Cloud Storage for Game Saves and Xbox LIVE Profile
