If you’ve yet to try Horde mode in Gears of War 3, then you’re severely missing out. As you. As you progress through the mode and level up, you’ll be able to level up barriers, decoys, turrets and more. One of the most desirable upgrades in the mode is the Silverback mech.
Unlocking the Silverback mech won’t come easy, and will definitely take quite a bit of time to do. In order to unlock the Silverback, you will need to spend over 170,000 of your cash in the mode on barriers. Once you have unlocked the ability to use the silverback suit, it’ll cost you quite a lot to use it.
Once you have unlocked the suit, you’ll want to make sure that you have an idea of the controls. By holding down “A”, you’ll be able to sprint in the suit. However, if you are standing still and tap the “A” button, you’ll lock yourself into place and earn the ability to fire rockets. Using the “B” button will allow you to stomp on nearby enemies, which can be incredibly useful against the ground troops.
If you have enough discipline and skill to last long enough to earn the suit, then you’re in for an amazing time. It manuevers beautifully, but can take quite a bit of damage. You’ll still be able to be put in the “down but not out” stage if you take enough damage to your character, however.
Have you had the opportunity to use the Silverback in Horde mode for Gears of War 3 yet? Do you have any tips for the suit that we may have not included? Be sure to let us know what you think by leaving us a comment below, or sound off in our forums!
